- the importance of employing for skill and personality
- the benefits of performance based salaries
Bio
I started a bunch of companies since 2009. Some of them have done well, some of them not so much, all of them light my soul on fire for different reasons. I don’t do what I do for the money, I do it because I find problems I obsessively want to solve. Like once an idea takes hold, I have no choice in the matter.
I’m vegan for three reasons (saves you asking). I’m a fan of animals and don’t like to hurt or kill them, I’m a fan of the planet and don’t like to hurt or kill it, and I’m a fan of myself and like to stay healthy.
My life goal is to visit every country in the world, and I’d really like to learn to speak Spanish. I’m making steady progress on the first goal (especially since turning all my companies fully-flexible and fully-remote back in 2013), failing miserably on the second.
Financial freedom is super important to me, and I’ve been working on that since I was pretty young. I know I need certain level of wealth to live the life I want to live, and so I’m in control of both my spending and my wealth creation strategy. Makes me feel great knowing all my dollars are working for me.
I question everything and live life on my own terms. The status quo is not for me and I’m constantly seeking out my truth and building a life that aligns with that. ‘F*ck the shoulds’ is kind of my motto, so please don’t tell me what I should do, and I won’t tell you what to do either.
